Carolina Mejia Villa
1. What is your favorite part about working with clients?
My favorite part is learning from our clients – this is the most valuable part of my job. Clients should challenge the perception we have of our own business. They help us understand our own value and relevance to the market, which leads us to deliver services in a more customer-centric manner. Companies that can incorporate customer feedback in a positive way are the ones that will stay at the top of the market and deliver increasingly competitive and accurate solutions, catered to their customer base.
2. Which fintech trend is most exciting to you and why?
Fintechs enabling merchants to provide financial services is my favorite trend. It is incredible to see the same products that took traditional banks years and millions to develop, being quickly and affordably embedded by merchants who can borrow a banking license and offer these services via APIs and third-party integrators. I believe we are moving toward a future of retail where merchants will overtake banks as the main providers of financial services, using banking licenses to serve their customers, as banks become another gear in the machine of the fintech industry..
3. Do you have any secret talents?
I love painting. I am not an expert at all, but I still enjoy answering the call to decorate our lives with art.
4. Who inspires you and why?
It inspires me to find authentic people on my path, who give themselves to others selflessly and who value the common good before their individual good. Oftentimes when people find success, their egos overshadow their talents, so people whose greatest success is being humble will always earn my admiration.
About Carolina Mejia Villa
Carolina has been developing businesses in the banking sector for ten years, generating and deepening relationships with clients in spend management, digital banking and retail. She has led the structuring of commercial areas and management of commercial teams at a national level. Carolina also has experience in structuring and managing partnership models to develop and enhance transactional ecosystems as leveraged growth strategies. The development of transactional business models for positioning in specific market segments is a particular strength of Carolina’s, and she is passionate about payment systems and BaaS projects in the region, acting as functional leader of massive payment projects based on in lightweight architectures with interoperable systems.
Edna Rouzaud
1. What is your favorite part about working with clients?
I enjoy building trust with customers and helping them achieve their goals. It’s exciting to tackle different scenarios every day. Our clients are always thinking bigger and are very passionate about their vision. I share that passion to see their vision through and to scale with them as their needs evolve. Making a difference is extremely gratifying and is the reason why I love customer success.
2. Which fintech trend is most exciting to you and why?
As a globetrotter, I follow advances in the technology of cross-border payments. In an extremely connected world with overseas employees and international business, we are still struggling with slow transactions, transparency, and high costs. The industry is ripe for disruption due to changing customer demands, emerging market growth, and financial inclusion.
As a fan of Fintech disruption, I think crypto is revolutionizing the way we see money and coexist with it. Right now we are seeing it in its early stages, but I believe it will be a long-term upward trend that creates more use cases to enable opportunities worldwide.
3. Do you have any secret talents?
I have the power to wake up smiling and with plenty of energy to start the day. I’m always ready for everything and enjoy trying new things. I consider myself a go-getter with no fears.
4. Who inspires you and why?
The disruption mindset of Elon Musk, the attitude of Tony Robbins, and the fearless spirit of Amelia Earhart.
